Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf of French bread or Italian bread (sliced lengthwise)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3–4 cloves garlic (minced or finely grated)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning (optional)

 

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Garlic Butter Mixture

  • In a medium bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt until well combined. Add the Parmesan cheese and oregano if desired.

2. Preheat the Oven

  • Set the oven to 375°F (190°C). If you prefer crispier garlic bread, use the broil setting.

3. Spread the Butter Mixture

  • Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.

4. Bake the Bread

  • Place the bread on a baking sheet, cut side up. Bake for 10–12 minutes until the butter is melted and the edges start to turn golden.

5. Optional: Broil for Extra Crispiness

  • For a crispier texture, switch the oven to broil and cook for an additional 1–2 minutes. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.

6. Slice and Serve

  • Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Slice into pieces and serve warm.
